We are a small, fast growing company that specializes in Custom Window blinds and shades and seeking to add drapery line.

Terms of Employment: Permanent part time

Hours of Employment: 8am -5pm (Monday - Friday)

**Salary**: Based on experience Anticipated

Start Date: As soon as possible Location: Mississauga, Ontario Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation required, Public transportation is available Skills and Competencies **Education: High School (required), Sewing experience in drapery is required.**

Basic Math and English (read/write/add/subtract/etc.) Effective written and oral communication skills. **Ability to uphold confidentiality. ** Demonstrates the ability to work independently and/or effectively in a team environment. **Ability to keep up in a medium to fast paced work environment. ** Ability to work on multiple projects at once Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities **Work is performed in a warehouse/manufacturing environment. ** Repetitive tasks, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Sitting, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, **Must be physically able to perform the essential duties of the position. ** Ability to distinguish between colours. **Ability to handle heavy fabric (some drapes can weigh upwards of 20 lbs)**

**Responsibilities**:
Follows and understands processes and job specific requirements as they relate to the job function. Cutting of drapery fabric and roller shades fabric, sewing drapery, complete and packagiing.Performs operations in a manner consistent with Curtain Urban shades objectives for safety, quality, responsiveness, and cost to meet job and company specifications. Follows standardized work processes. Completes documentation as required by the Department. Performs other duties as required.

Other Information:
Type of Equipment: Single needle machine, Double needle machine etc.

Straight Stitch Specific Skills: Operate machines to join sections of material or other articles into finished products on a piece-work or production basis. Cutting fabric using semi automatic cutting table. Conducts quality control checks.

**Requirements**:

- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with coworkers
- Able to read a tape measure accurately
- Must have excellent math skills
- Physically fit, able to stand, bend, crouch and lift while carrying objects of varying weights
- Clean and neat in appearance
- Team player with cooperative attitude

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: From $15.50 per hour

Schedule:

- 4 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
