Maintenance technician job description

We are looking for a General Maintenance Person at the Travelodge Hotel, Sudbury. **You must be a permanent resident or have a work permit to apply.**

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance person is to exceed the expectations of our customers by ensuring that the property and facilities are maintained at high standard to the satisfaction of customers, guests and the Travelodge Brand.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Must be able to work weekends
- Cut the lawn and landscaping
- Review Pool Chemicals and numbers
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on plumbing systems.
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on appliances.
- Performs preventative maintenance.
- Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies.
- Paint, Repair drywall.
- Snow removal.
- Perform routine maintenance jobs and repairs.
- Addresses maintenance emergencies in a timely fashion.
- Perform daily maintenance of pool
- Complete daily tasks assigned in a timely manner
- Have a clean as you go work ethic.
- Sweep, mop, scrub and wax floors.
- Empty waste containers.

**Skills and work experience**:

- capable of working on electrical, plumbing, painting, wallpaper, dry wall as part of general building maintenance activities
- must be physically fit to carry out the maintenance activities
- Must be able to work independently as well as work with others
- Excellent communication skills

**Physical Demands**
- Handling heavy loads
- Physically demanding
- Combination of sitting, standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling bending, crouching, and kneeling
- Must be available to work shift work (Days, Evenings, Nights and Weekends.)

**Shifts work and call ins**
- Day shifts
- Afternoons
- Must be able go work weekends and stat holidays non negotiable
- You will have to be on call from time to time

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 40 per week

**Salary**: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
