The **Supervisor, Accounting and Treasury** is responsible for leading and supervising the accounting and treasury functions of the Residential division. The position will oversee the bank reconciliation process, manage the treasury operations, and ensure the smooth operation of utility accounting. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong leadership skills, a focus on process improvement, and the ability to collaborate with multiple internal teams.

**WHAT WILL YOU DO?**

**Treasury and Cash Management**:

- Supervise day-to-day treasury operations, including cash management and banking functions.
- Review and analyze daily cash reporting, cash flow projections, and rolling weekly cash flow forecasts to support treasury and liquidity management, providing leadership with insights into both short
- and long-term cash needs.
- Ensure timely and accurate payments via EFT and Wire, fully complying with legal, regulatory, and professional standards across U.S. and Canadian divisions.

**Bank Reconciliation Oversight**:

- Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts, ensuring all discrepancies are identified, investigated, and resolved in a timely manner.
- Lead efforts to investigate discrepancies between bank balances and general ledger accounts, collaborating with internal departments and external parties to resolve issues.

**Utility Accounting Management**:

- Supervise the operations of the utility accounting division, including utility billing processing, customer service, and handling utility rate changes.
- Review and analyze utility expenses, utility accruals, and payments for each property, identifying any anomalies or discrepancies. This may involve reviewing utility usage patterns, historical trends, and consulting with utility vendors as necessary.
- Act as a key escalation point for utility inquiries, offering proactive, solutions-focused customer service for utility billing issues.

**Additional Responsibilities**:

- Provide high-quality customer service with a collaborative, team-oriented approach to both internal and external customers.
- Work closely with various internal teams (including Field Staff, Financial Reporting, and Operations) and external stakeholders, such as utility providers and auditors, to ensure effective utility management, accounting, and treasury operations.
- Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring proper training, development, and cross-training within the accounting and treasury functions.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for automating or streamlining accounting and treasury processes.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports as required by leadership and assist with any other duties as assigned.

**WHAT WILL YOU NEED?**
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is a plus.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and treasury, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong understanding of bank reconciliation processes, treasury operations, and utility accounting.
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrated success in process improvement, systems implementation, or automation projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, experience with Yardi Voyager would be considered an asset
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
