**Job Overview**
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Cook to join our team working in a community mental health facility. In this role, you will be cooking for approximately 25 people while being mindful of each unique dietary need.

**Responsibilities**
- Preparation and serving of meals to patients, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
- Engage with patients in a supportive manner, fostering a positive environment conducive to recovery.
- Monitor patient behavior and report any significant changes or concerns to the clinical team.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in food service areas, adhering to health regulations.
- Participate in meal preparation activities, including cooking and food handling, as required.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement individualized care plans effectively.
- Document patient interactions and progress accurately as part of ongoing care assessments.
- Adhere to the Canada Food Guide and ensure licensing compliance.

**Qualifications**
- Previous experience in the food industry or kitchen environment is preferred, including skills in food preparation and cooking.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and handling procedures is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine desire to serve others in a mental health setting.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients and staff.
- A background in restaurant service or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory.
