Permit Facilitator

Full job description

Coordinates the acquisition of building permits for all construction projects. Ensures the site construction staff have the proper documents at the start of a project and for any maintenance throughout the entire project. Works closely with the Director of Construction Coordination to maintain accurate timelines from the point of sale to permit submission and issuance.

Key Accountabilities:
Liaison between municipalities and site staff.

Requests siting & grading plans based upon what has been sold on every project.

Work closely with architectural firms, HVAC designers, and municipal staff in the submission of drawings throughout the permit process.

Maintains friendly relations with municipal staff to ensure that Barndo & Co’s integrity is exceptional.

Assist and coordinate with the design team for the preparation of the documentation required by the municipalities.

Executes revisions or changes that occur in the permit process.

Create, track, and maintain spreadsheets and reports from the point of sale to ensure proper information is applied for and distributed.

Distribute drawings, permits, and anything else required for success on the construction site.

Works closely with the project management team throughout the approval process to ensure information is compliant.

Tracking of current permit fees and development charge rates throughout the different municipalities.

Initiate notice of the project before a new site begins construction.

As a Permit Facilitator, you will be instrumental in managing the permitting process within the construction sector, ensuring compliance with regulations and facilitating communication between stakeholders. Additionally, your relevant skills in data collection and administrative tasks will support efficient operations, making you a vital asset in driving project success and maintaining regulatory standards.

**Qualifications**:
University or College Degree in a related discipline.

5+ years of experience in a construction and design position.

Familiarity with blueprints and construction drawings.

Understanding of municipal and industry specifications for construction.

Strong analytical and thought leadership skills.

Strong decision-making skills.

Professional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage all internal and external stakeholders.

Ability to multitask and achieve deadlines efficiently, timely, and accurately.

An agile thinker who is comfortable with flexing business needs and priorities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), Google Sheets and Docs.

Pay: From $48,000.00 per year
