Summer Student - The House of Sprouts Greenhouse

Located in the beautiful Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre (KRRC) supports approximately 166 persons living with, physical, behavioural, psychological and developmental disabilities and employs over 600 staff. KRRC is seeking an energetic student who has a passion for horticulture, working with adults living with varying abilities, and would love to spend their summer in a greenhouse, outdoors, and interacting with others.

This position is $ 15.70 per hour for 37.5 hours weekly, on a 14-week term. This position will commence on May 12th, 2025 through to August 15th, 2025.

To be eligible for the incentive, the applicant(s) must be a full-time student in an accredited post-secondary institution, or a graduating grade 12 student (must submit a copy of their high school diploma) who is enrolled in a full-time university or college program in the coming fall. A copy of acceptance letter and/or transcript(s) must be submitted as proof of eligibility. The student must be a permanent resident of the province or reside in Nova Scotia for at least six months prior to this work term. Experience with persons with physical, intellectual and developmental

disabilities, mental health and social challenges, and/or experience in horticulture will be considered assets.
- Provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Be required to complete on-line education prior to starting employment as part of their orientation.
- Provide 3 references; work references or combination of work references and other professional references such as from an instructor, volunteer placement or coach.
