Analyst, Investment Accounting

We're hiring for an Analyst on our Investment Accounting team This position sits within Corporate Finance. In this role you will contribute expertise, a desire to build a team community, and an eagerness to be apart of a winning culture.
The person who fills this role will be a key member of the OMERS Corporate Finance team. Our ambitions are high: we aim to be the best corporate finance team in the Canadian pension industry.

**The main responsibilities of this position include**:
Monthly/daily preparation, review and analysis of reconciliations of information between the investment general ledger, investment source systems and external parties;
Preparation of notes to the quarterly financial statements prepared in accordance with IFRS, as well as supplemental reconciliations to the MD&A and other Board reporting;
Daily cash forecasting, submitting occasional invoices and offering accounting guidance supporting the operations;
Active participation in operational improvement initiatives
Preparation of reports for compliance or informative needs
Documentation of investment-related reconciliation and control processes.

**As a member of this team, you will be responsible for**:
Interacting with Investment Operations and Applications, process improvement leadership, OMERS Capital Markets personnel, and other Investment Entities;
Participating in the maintenance of OMERS general ledger system;
Preparing investment-related reports for regulatory agencies and Statistics Canada as required;
Participating in the development and maintenance of Investment Accounting policies and procedures;
Participating in special projects and ad hoc requests as the need arises.

**To succeed in this role, you have**:
University degree or college diploma with an accounting designation or advanced standing in a program leading to an accounting designation.
3+ years related experience in investment accounting, operating, and/or reporting positions.
Familiarity with the investment industry with an understanding of financial reporting systems, investment operations, and Investment products.
Experience with general ledger systems, preferably Oracle Financials and its report writing capabilities.
A team player able to operate in a fast-paced and changing environment with numerous priorities and deadlines
Strong detail orientation with superior excel skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proven experience in operational improvement.
