**Job Summary**
This position is a region-wide leadership position for policy and change management in the evolution of e-documentation by clinicians. The responsibilities include: Regional Management responsibility for Transcription Services and Health Information Services staff at the Bliss Murphy Cancer Center, leading the regional development of voice-recognition and standard-text strategies as transcription services evolve with current and emerging technology. A significant role is also educating staff, students and physicians and overseeing the transition of e-documentation in the Electronic Health Record as it develops and facilitating the adoption of the new technologies by clinicians.

**Job Qualifications**

**Education**
A Baccalaureate degree in Health Informatics/Health Information Management, Business Administration or a health-related degree from a recognized/accredited post-secondary institution is required.

**Experience**
Minimum of five years' experience within the last seven in health information management or heath information is required.

Experience in project/change management initiatives, and in the use of Meditech and other electronic health systems.

Progressive leadership experience is required.

**Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)**
A dynamic leadership style focused on:
Knowledge of informatics and its role in enhancing patient/client/resident safety.

Knowledge of applicable legislation that affects health records management such as the Hospital Act, Personal Health Information Act, Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act and the Adoptions Act.

Demonstrated excellent communication and presentation skills, and be able to function effectively in a high pressure, diverse and changing environment.

Demonstrated ability to engage and collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Demonstrated exceptional analytic, and strong organizational skills.

Demonstrated conflict management skills.

Ability to lead and support strategic planning in a large organization.

**Other**
Current and continuing certification as an accredited Health Information Management Professional from the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA)

Eligibility for membership in the Newfoundland and Labrador Health Information Management Association (NLHIMA) is required.

A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
