Stoney Creek, Canada Gratus Courier Services Inc. Full time

We are looking to add a new member to our team. You will be a courier driver, and driving a company truck. You are hired as a subcontractor, and as such are responsible for your own taxes etc. You must be able to start training immediately.

**Description**:

- Starting wage $18.00 / hr to be increased in 3 months
- Start & end location: Stoney Creek
- Start time: 7-7:30am
- End time: varies depending on freight volume, usually between 3:00-4:30p.m
- Customers/Freight type: The route is a combination of business-to-business freight and residential stops. The majority of the business-to-business freight is small packages for eye & hearing care, pharmacies, and insurance companies. The residential freight is most often clothing and beer/wine deliveries.

**Requirements**:

- G class Ontario license
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Must own a smartphone with a data plan (reminder: as a subcontractor, this is tax-deductible, at least in part)
- Ability to download and operate smartphone-based apps for communication, navigation and information tracking (e.g. Google Maps, Google Sheets, Gmail)
- Ability to lift packages up to 70 pounds.
- Must be able to work calmly and quickly under pressure.
- Must have excellent organizational skills.
- Must be a self-motivated problem solver.

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Maintain safe driving habits at all times.
- Utilize a smartphone and apps such as Google Maps, Google Sheets, and Gmail to communicate and track information.
- Perform a daily Inspection report for the delivery vehicle (provided by Gratus) to ensure vehicle maintenance is kept up to date.
- Load the delivery vehicle with the day’s freight in a timely, well-organized fashion
- Organize and optimize the day’s delivery stops quickly and efficiently, using the provided scanner/manifest and a personal organizational strategy (e.g. smartphone-based apps like Circuit/Road Warrior, Google Maps, etc.)
- Maintain a working knowledge of the scanner, accurately tracking deliveries and pickups.
- Maintain professionalism at all times when interacting with customers.
- Maintain public health protocols as required by the policies of Gratus Courier, and the clients we serve.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

- Retention bonus
