As an Intake and Information Specialist with the YMCA of Three Rivers, you will be the first point of contact for clients accessing Employment Services. You’ll provide welcoming customer service, support self-directed clients, and maintain up-to-date resources in the Resource Centre. This role involves assisting with job search activities, navigating employment platforms, and ensuring accurate data entry across multiple systems. You’ll also collaborate with community agencies, deliver workshops, and represent the YMCA in various meetings and outreach efforts.
**What will you do**
- Provide welcoming first line customer service.
- Create positive and productive relationships with clients.
- Provide current labour market information in order to assist job seekers with their employment/educational goals.
- Update, acquire and enhance resources used by participants to ensure appropriate referrals are made for barriers to employment. Included are mental health resources, housing, addiction, criminal involvement and any other identified needs.
- Assist participants in the Resource Centre regarding computers, job searching, job bank or any other assistance they may require.
- Assist clients with accessing and navigating Thrive Career Wellness Service.
- Assist Self Directed clients with pre-employment activities (resume and cover letter preparation, mock interviews, employer research.)
- Photocopy and submit resumes and cover letters for participants.
- Ensure accurate information is entered and uploaded in all required systems within 24 hours for all client interactions, including self-directed and case managed clients. Accurate and detailed case notes for client information are a vital part of this role.
- Check systems (Common Assessment Portal) at least twice daily for referrals from various pathways, including Social Assistance through the Common Assessment portal, Targeted Referral (TRF) and Feedback, Request a Service Provider (RASP) and from the Serco Web Presence. Distribute referrals to Employment Coaches for initial case conferencing with Social Assistance Case Workers.
- Maintain Information Management Systems by entering client data into the SSM’s information management systems and CaMS.
- Comply with data integrity and security policies on all systems: including but not limited to the SSM’s systems and CaMS. Confirm data integrity by reviewing data for deficiencies or errors. Correct data incompatibilities and check output
