Winpak Division is seeking a Recycler to join the Recycling department on the 8-hour rotating shift. This position offers the opportunity to develop skills in equipment operation, teamwork, and communication within a dynamic work environment.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Reporting to the Recycling Supervisor, the Recycler is responsible to safely and effectively coordinate and participate in collecting materials throughout the plant and preparing materials for shipment, storage or Landfill. The Recycler must ensure the continuous operation of the bale room, and to safely and effectively operate all warehouse equipment. Specifically:
- Follow all Winpak Plant Rules and Regulations, including all Safe Work Procedures.
- Perform plant cleanup activities by collecting recyclable products from the various departments throughout the facility.
- Operate trim room balers including the wrapping and handling of plastic bales.
- Perform daily housekeeping to ensure the baler room is well maintained, clean and in operational order.
- Ensure all Recycling Storage Areas, including the docks are kept clean and clear of debris.
- Review and Maintain the Outside Garbage Bins.
- Load containers for shipment of recyclable plastic. Complete load sheets for said shipments.
- Maintain spread sheets detailing sales/shipments of various recyclable materials.
- Create all required shipping documents as well as “Certificates of Destruction”.
- Interact with external customers and coordinate sales and pickups of material.
- Look for options to actively engage in Environmental or Sustainability Committees or Teams.
- Operate lift trucks in compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health regulations.
- Perform pre-shift inspection daily and complete inspection checklists.
- Promote teamwork, cooperation, and effective communication within the department and Company.
- Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner compliant with ISO 9001 standards, as well as all other related Quality and Food Safety Policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift license.
- Good organizational skills, and proficiency in the entry of computerized inventory.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:
- 1+ year of previous work-related experience is preferred.
- Ability to do administrative duties.
- Extensive knowledge of Movex and Word.
- Other combinations of education, experience, knowledge, and skills will be considered.
**ADDITIONAL DETAILS**:
- This position is 100% onsite, working on the production floor.
- We are located in Murray Industrial Park. There are limited bus services to this location.
