JOB PURPOSE

The role of Employee Relations specialist covers all the above and more. This role is a great opportunity for someone with a solid background in HR and employee relations to get exposure to all parts of our business in the UK influence how we work in Unilever now and into the future. The role offers the experience to get involved in challenging work that has real impact.

This is an excellent opportunity to come and work within our team and share knowledge and experience whilst supporting and guiding the wider HR community. The key aims of the Employment Excellence team are to work jointly with the HR teams and the wider business to shape the employment environment on policy and practice, ensure our immigration agenda enables the attraction of key talent, build and enhance the capability of our HR community in Employee Relations practice, support change and employee relations in a way that minimises risk and maximises human care.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide strong, and carefully thought-out support to HR professionals across the business on case management, focussing in each case on risks and potential outcomes to ensure all perspectives and avenues are fully considered.
- Drive the learning and development agenda to ensure our People Partners and HR Partners have access to learning and growth opportunities in Employee relations knowledge and practice. Demonstrate that in turn, this growth is achieving a positive impact and clear tangible results.
- Support, advise and partner HR Business Partners on key projects such as outsourcing and insourcing, change projects, TUPE in line with Unilevers commitments and ways of working, assessing risk and being a key strategic interface and sounding board to the business
- Support HR Director on case strategy for high risk and complex cases including senior level

ALL ABOUT YOU
- Strong experience in an employee relations advisor or has undertaken a related specialist role
- Experience of managing both employee relations and industrial relations
- Experience of end-to-end employee relations case management including very sensitive and highly complex cases
- The ability to provide daily / operational guidance and advice to People Partners and HR Business Partners (HR advisors and Business Partners) on all employee relations cases
- Demonstrable experience of supporting ith letters, reports, case analysis and investigation planning
- Experience in providing feedback and guidance on documents to ensure our case management approach does not expose Unilever to risk
- Experience in coaching and building capability on best practice, employment legislation and quality case management
- Experience in building capability and developing learning and upskilling programs in an innovative and impactful way
- The ability to identify and manage legal, financial, and reputational risk
- Strong influencing skills and the ability to interface with a variety of stakeholders across the business
- Strong communication / teamwork skills
- Agility and result orientation
- Critical thinking and the ability to focus on all possibilities and plan accordingly
- Multi focusing and time management
- Being mobile to different sites in the UK if needed
- A passion for improvement and progression
- A passion for learning and development and for introducing new learning technologies and approaches to cementing ER learning for the HR community.
- An employment law qualification such as an LLM would be preferable in addition to CIPD Level 7
- Location: Due to the role being National the location is flexible in the UK, (*please note the team meet every other week usually in the south for our team meetings) so travel will be required
- The grade is equivalent to WL1
