**About the role**

***Hourly Pay Range**:$32.00-$38.00

**What you’ll be doing**
- Assisting the Superintendent in managing the overall construction project including planning, scheduling, and coordinating construction activities.
- Acts as a liaison between the Superintendent, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Ensures compliance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- May oversee specific aspects of the project such as a particular phases or systems.
- Helps manage project documentation, including daily reports, safety logs, and inspection records.
- Assist in maintaining jobsite presentation and cleanliness.
- Effectively manage the site if required when the superintendent is offsite.
- Perform skilled and non-skilled tasks including drainage, site prep, concrete work, machine operations, framing, firestopping, finishing and general carpentry tasks.
- Assist managing on-site material, including communicating and forecasting when material is needed and receiving onsite deliveries.
- Assist quality checks at the required building stages. Checklists include framing, finishing, and landscaping and are to be submitted to the superintendent.
- Mentor and train construction team, fostering skill development and professional growth.
- Offer solutions to team and individual challenges to help them succeed in their role.
- Assisting the Superintendent and CSO in leading the Westbow’s safety program onsite. This responsibility includes but is not limited to assisting in all site toolbox meetings, maintaining onsite equipment, rectifying jobsite safety hazards, orientating trades and employees, and jobsite documentation regarding happenings and hazards.
- Assist in setting an example for site teams when it comes to safety, quality and efficiency.

**What we’re looking for**
- 4+ years in a similar or related role including carpentry experience, wood framing and finish carpentry.
- Experience using construction related hand/power tools.
- Previous experience in apartments including parkade's.
- In-depth knowledge of construction techniques, processes and regulations; including WCB regulations and British Columbia Building Code.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical drawings.
- First Aid Level 2 or willing to get certified.
- Ability to lift heavy items up to 50lbs.
- New home construction experience is an asset.
- Forklift ticket considered an asset.
