Residential Counsellors are instrumental in assisting our residents in leading full and productive lives by diligently attending to their physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, medical, and financial needs. Residential Counsellors are mindful of the importance of enabling our residents to achieve their fullest potential. Residential Counsellors constantly strive to ensure the best quality of life for all our residents and to create a safe, family-homelike atmosphere in all our homes.

Job Requirements:

- A diploma or degree in Health and Community Studies / Community Social Services or experience caring for individuals with multiple disabilities
- Clear Police Records Check for Vulnerable Sector
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification
- English (fluent - understand, speak and write)
- Valid Ontario Driver’s license and ability to be insured
- Experience providing personal care for individuals with a developmental disability, physical disability, and or dual diagnosis
- Written communication skills to complete forms and reports
- Effective conflict resolution, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Practice in medication administration
- Experience working with Behavioural Support Plans and outside clinical supports
- Ability to wake quickly and respond to resident needs whenever required
