If you are a payroll professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you Based in our Brantford, ON location, as a **part-time payroll analyst **you will be directly responsible for processing weekly and bi-weekly payroll, maintaining time and attendance systems for union payroll and assisting with account reconciliations. This position is also responsible for maintaining employee vacation accruals, sick time and processing year-end tax form adjustments, and providing overall payroll support to our team.
**AS A PAYROLL ANALYST, YOU WILL**:
- Accurately enter, process, and balance weekly & bi-weekly payroll earnings and adjustments for Salaried and Hourly employees
- Process payroll information including but not limited to master file changes, earnings, department changes, leaves, new hire set-up, and terminations for multiple payrolls
- Adjust, update, and maintain the time and attendance system for weekly union payroll
- Responsible for tracking and reconciling payroll tax remittances
- Maintain and reconcile taxable benefits, benefit plan payments, and RRSP/Pension plan contributions
- Process WSIB reconciliation and payments
- Responsible for maintaining employee vacation accruals, tracking sick days, and banked time
- Prepare all payroll journal entries and assist with account reconciliations
- Responsible for all Year-End tax form adjustments such as taxable car, taxable benefits, pension adjustments and year-end balancing
- Provide timely responses to inquiries from Finance, HR, managers, and employees.
- Provide back up to the Payroll Manager and assist with other duties
- Provide support for project work and other duties, as required

**REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS**:
- Post-secondary education
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with full-cycle payroll processing
- General knowledge of Canadian employment law, payroll legislation, and accounting principles
- Experience with and/or working knowledge of a payroll system
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines
- Ability to handle confidential information with respect and integrity
- Ability to collaborate well with other departments
- Authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship now or in the future.
- **Must be open to working Part-Time - 26 hours weekly.**
**PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS**:
- Canadian Payroll Association member with PCP designation preferred.
- Post-secondary education in Payroll, Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources
- Strongly prefer, experience working with multiple-province payroll in particular, Quebec & RL-1 preparation
- Experience with Oracle HCM would be beneficial
- Ability to interpret Collective Agreements and experience with union payroll would be beneficial.
