**JOB SUMMARY**:
- Engage in community outreach and develop relationships with residents and stakeholders.
- Provide basic counseling, case management, and intake services.
- Develop an understanding of current mental health issues and coping strategies.
- Offer psychosocial support, conduct risk assessments, and create intervention plans.
- Facilitate group sessions to enhance mental wellness.
- Assist clients in setting and achieving personal goals.
- Support data management and project reporting.
- Advocate for clients and connect them to community resources.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate programs and services.
- Ensure proper documentation, reports, and evaluations are completed.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Participants will be supervised by the Community Health Manager.
- Participants will be introduced to the staff and provided with an overview of the agency and the community health program.
- Training will include health and safety, first aid, and HR policies, including inclusion and diversity.
- Participants will be oriented to the program features and equipment, intake and referral process, available resources, and reporting requirements.
- Participants will work alongside a staff member who will act as a mentor and coach.
- Participant feedback will be provided to ensure sufficient support.
- Participants will receive mandatory WHMIS training and orientation to HR policies and procedures.
- Full supervision will be provided, and a designated senior staff member will be assigned to offer additional support.
**Qualifications (Skills/Knowledge/Experience)**:
- To be eligible, youth must:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of employment.
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada according to relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
- International students are not eligible participants.
