On November 13th, the Distillery Historic District is transforming into a Winter Village, and we’re looking to populate it The Winter Village is a place to create memories; a place that facilitates joy, celebration, family, and love into the New Year. The festival aims to help guests rediscover the magic and romance of the holidays by bringing together local artisanal food makers, craftspeople and musicians to the heart of the city again If you love spreading joy and sharing smiles - we’d like you to join our village
**Please note, you must have legal permission to work in Canada to be considered for this role. This is a seasonal role running from October 2024 - January 2025.**

**What you will be doing**
- Ensure the smooth and welcoming operation of all entrances and exits to The Distillery Winter Village (DWV).
- Communicate regularly with ticketing management company
- Communicate crowd management strategies with the Gate Team Leads (approximately 12 people) to ensure all information and plans are accurate and similar at all gates
- Communicate regularly with security to ensure the visitor numbers are maintained and the flow of visitors moving in and out of the DWV is within allowable limits
- Set and maintain performance standards for the Gatekeeper Team with the assistance of the Gate Team Leads
- Manage performance of all Gate Team Leads and Gatekeepers
- Manage scheduling for the Gatekeepers team (approximately 150 people)
- Track weather patterns and past guest counts to predict visitor flow and adjust plans accordingly

**What you’ll bring to the village gates**
- ** EXPERIENCE. **You have managed the entrance of large festivals or stadiums in the past. You are adept at managing the flow of large crowds and ensuring the process is smooth and orderly.
- ** PEOPLE SKILLS. **You have a genuine passion and drive to create the best visitor experience possible - keeping people smiling as they wait in the cold. Equally, you love building a great experience for you team, keeping people motivated and sharing their inner warmth.
- ** LEADERSHIP**:You’re the leader of our Gatekeepers - setting the tone for the visitor experience and wishing people well as they leave You pride yourself in being able to collaborate with others and to lead a team by healthy example.
- ** COMMUNICATION SKILLS. **You demonstrate exceptional relationship building and communication skills among your team members and all other stakeholders.
