**Lions Housing Centres is looking to hire a full-time or part-time indefinite term Resident Care Manager.** - **WHAT WE DO**_ Lions Housing Centres operates within our community to provide a comfortable, home-like atmosphere for residents through various housing opportunities, including Independent Living, Supportive Housing, and the Personal Care Centre. Our vision statement is "_**To care for all and to create a healthy and vibrant community" **_and we would not be able to promote our goal without the skills and abilities, and compassion of our dedicated staff. - **ABOUT THE POSITION**_ This position isresponsible for the overall leadership and management of a resident care unit. In collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, the RCM strives to ensure the highest quality of resident care. - **SOME RESPONSIBILITIES**_ - Ensures use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) to deliver safe, quality care. - Directs, plans and coordinates delivery of resident care with members of the health care team to ensure continuity of care and meets or exceeds Regional, Provincial, and National standards. - Evaluates delivery of care, Resident outcomes, and resident and staff satisfaction. - Ensures policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines are current, available and utilized to facilitate the delivery of appropriate safe care. - Facilitates effective and efficient discharges and transfers of residents in collaboration with other members of the health care team. - Familiar with and able to implement the Fire and Disaster Plan as well as policies and procedures related to security and Resident safety. - Establishes, monitors and evaluates departmental objectives designed to ensure quality of care consistent with the mission statement and philosophy. - Prioritizes care based on resident needs. - Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of best practice and quality improvement initiatives. - Promote effective communication with residents, families, staff, external care agencies and care providers. - Plans the unit resident care assignments to meet the care needs of Residents based on the level of acuity/complexity and staff expertise. - Monitors and manages performance issues in accordance with facility guidelines. - Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to promote a safe and healthy environment. - **Qualifications**_ - Current registration with CRNM or CRPNM - Bachelor of Nursing Degree (BN) - Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience, preferrably long term care - Able to read, write and speak English - Good oral and written communication skills - Ability to supervise and direct the work of others - Good computer skills - Ability to work independently and be flexible to change as situations warrant - Good interpersonal skills and an expressed willingness to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team - Organizational abilities, with a particular emphasis on time management - Immunization up to date, documentation to be shown on hire - Physically and mentally able to perform all duties of the role **Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time **Benefits**: - Company pension - Dental care - Disability insurance - Employee assistance program - Extended health care - Life insurance - On-site parking - Paid time off - Vision care Schedule: - 8 hour shift - Evening shift - Monday to Friday Work Location: One location
