Short Term HR Related Opportunities at Ubc

We are looking for HR professionals who can start ASAP under our Administrative roster at UBC Hiring Solutions.
We have short term HR opportunities available and we encourage all qualified and interested applicants to apply. The length of each term varies from approximately one month to two months. Upon completing the initial HR assignment, any following assignments may pertain to any Administrative function within UBC and will not necessarily fall under HR. Please note that the roles will be filled as soon as suitable applicants have been found.
Typical duties in these assignments could pertain to any area of complex Human Resources functions and administrative tasks related to faculty and staff. This includes all human resources administrative tasks related to faculty and staff employee life cycles including (but not limited to) recruitment, onboarding, appointments, promotions, leaves, layoff/terminations, payroll & benefits, data entry, HRIS processing, reporting etc. Typical duties may also include providing information and general advice on university policies, procedures and relevant employment legislation and practices to Managers, Faculty and employees.
- **Start date: ASAP**
- **Contract: 1-2 months, with a possibility for extension**
- **Full time hours**
- **$22.03 - $27 average hourly pay rate**
Qualifications:
High school graduation supplemented by training in office procedures and practices or a combination of education and related work experience. University undergraduate degree preferred. Minimum of three to four years of recent HR or a combination of HR and administrative experience in a professional office environment. Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities. Ability to exercise tact, discretion, and judgment required. Proven ability to be flexible, confident and self-motivated. Ability to prioritize and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines. Ability to deal with a diversity of people in a calm, courteous, and effective manner. Ability to analyze problems, identify key information and issues, and effectively resolve. Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail. Effective oral and written communication skills. Proven ability to work in a team and collaborate with others. A commitment to enhancing one’s own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to difference. Must have skills pertaining to managing diversity across identities, perspectives, and behaviours (e.g. communication skills, managing conflict, flexibility and working in ambiguity). Behaviours that demonstrate empathy, sensitivity and, curiosity toward difference is a must.
**Salary**: $22.03-$27.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
