Haven Building Group is a reputable construction company that specializes in delivering high-quality residential and commercial construction projects across the Ottawa area. We are looking for a skilled Senior Construction Technician to join our team and contribute to our mission of excellence.

**What you’ll do**:

- Ability to write detailed inspection & daily work reports
- Able to manage receipts and complete minor bookkeeping entries
- Able to photograph work in progress at different angles to help build a portfolio
- Willing and capable of using cloud-based technology & online management software.
- Strong understanding of building plans and blueprints
- Willing to complete maintenance on multi homes sites (Handyman work)
- Providing technical support, training, and guidance to junior construction technicians
- Able to lead and complete commercial projects, small or large.
- Able and willing to work at projects of different heights (The use of the occasional 40 ft ladder)
- Thorough knowledge of construction materials, techniques, and processes such as, drywall repairs, roof leaks, siding repairs, structural repairs, foundation repairs, fencing repairs, leak investigation and waterproofing, general & finish carpentry, caulking, minor plumbing/electrical & HVAC, painting, cleaning, demolition and more.
- Occasional Emergency service calls as required.

- Possess 5 to 10+ years of experience on-site
- Reliable and up to date mobile phone
- Needs to possess own tools

- Capable of leading projects to a successful conclusion while balancing efficiency with quality
- Strong understanding of cost control
- Able to lift & carry 50 lbs on a consistent basis

**Additional skills to be considered as a strong asset**:

- Estimating and project management experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- General or minor Quickbooks knowledge
- All Health & Safety Tickets (WHMIS, Working at heights, etc.)
- Second Language: Either French or Spanish will be considered an asset

**Compensation**:

- Hourly-based salary (based on experience, skillset and long-term mindset)
- Profit sharing & Bonus
- Company-supplied vehicle or vehicle per diem

**Salary**: $30.00-$40.00 per hour

**Benefits**:

- Ottawa, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
