Casual Aquatics

**Location**: Elmsdale, NS

**Assistant Lifeguard/Instructors** have completed the initial courses in their Lifeguard certifications and work with and support the team that operates the East Hants Aquatic Centre while gaining valuable hands-on, on-the-job experience.

Qualifications:

- Bronze Cross and Intermediate Workplace First Aid with CPR Level C
- Swim For Life Instructor, or certification when eligible
- Willingness to obtain National Lifeguard or other certifications
- Comfortable working in a busy, customer service-oriented, team environment

**Aquatics Instructors** are responsible for instructing classes in a safe, fun, and professional manner, according to the standards of the Lifesaving Society of Canada and the East Hants Aquatic Centre. Instructor responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Completing long-term lesson plans
- Maintaining accurate training records
- Managing the process for regular feedback to students, including mid-term and final reports

Aquatics Instructors must have the following certifications:

- Lifesaving Swim Instructor
- National Lifeguard or Bronze Cross AND Intermediate Workplace First Aid with CPR Level C
- National Lifeguard with Intermediate Workplace First Aid with CPR Level C
- Swim for Life Instructor, ability and willingness to instruct lessons

Flexible scheduling available including evenings and weekends.

Assistant Lifeguard/Instructor $16.50/hour

Aquatics Instructor $19.50/hour

Lifeguard (Evenings/weekends) $18.50/hour
