Lumber Picker

Construx Building Products is looking for a Lumber Picker to join our team.

**Summary**
We are looking for someone to fill the position of Lumber Picker. It is fast paced, requires attention to detail and someone who is safety conscious.

Hours

This is a full-time position working Monday - Thursday from 3:30pm - 2:00am

Job Duties
- Safely operating a forklift
- Handling lumber materials
- Prepping materials for shop orders
- Working with the team to get materials lined up for prefabrication
- Maintaining a clean worksite
- Picking out lumber based on order specifications
- Assisting in the shop with orders as needed
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety requirements

**Education, Experience and Knowledge**

The following qualifications are required:

- Must have valid forklift certification with 1+ years of operating experience
- Valid driver's license and vehicle to get to work (There is no public transit to our location)
- Experience working as an Order Picker
- Physically capable of heavy labour work within a fabrication shop setting
- High attention to detail
- Knowledge about lumber would be very advantageous
- Experience in framing would be an asset

Work Conditions
- Use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
- Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust
- Must be able to lift (up to 50 pounds), push, pull or carry heavy objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
- May be exposed to intermittent loud noise
- Requires good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination
- Excellent stamina is required
- Hazards associated with the construction industry
