St Thomas, Canada O.E Medical Professional Corp Full time

We are looking for an experienced Clinical Assistant or an International Medical Graduate that will work under the supervision of the family physician to provide excellent care for the patients.

**General Description**

**Required Education, Skills and Qualifications**:

- International Medical Graduate (IMG) with Clinical Assistant experience in Canada.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

The Clinical assistant's job will include but its not limited to:

- Perform a complete and appropriate assessment of a patient and formulate a clinical treatment plan. You will be expected to be able to assess up to 4 to 5 patients per hour. The visit type spans from regular visits to chronic disease management - diabetes, hypertension, heart failure, Ischaemic Heart disease, Well Baby Checks, Prenatal/post-natal visits, physicals, etc.
- Able to work under the Delegation of Controlled Acts to assist the physician with tasks under supervision.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, x-rays, ultrasounds, CT scans, MRIs, etc.) under the supervision of the physician.
- Read reports, results, faxes, respond to the reports and update the chart proactively under the supervision of the physician.
- Educate and counsel patients on preventive health.
- Able to relay results accurately to patients and to arrange follow up as recommended by the physician.
- Completion of forms and documents requested by third parties...Insurance forms, work forms, Service Canada forms, Service Ontario forms, ODSP forms, MOH forms, MTO forms, WSIB forms and any other forms as delegated by the physician.
- Perform basic family practice procedures which includes but not limited to IM, S/c, ID injections, PAP smears, ear syringing, Liquid Nitrogen Cryotherapy, suture/staple removal, vaccination for all ages.
- Able to work a flexible schedule
- Be a fast learner and be able to get through tasks very quickly in a fast-paced work environment.
- Any other role assigned by the clinic/physician so as to assist the physician to provide the best care to the patients.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 18 - 20 per week
