**Job Summary**:
With this position, you will have the opportunity to work at the beautiful retirement community, Berwick on the Lake, located in Nanaimo, BC. **Marquise Hospitality** is currently seeking a **Red Seal** **Chef **at **Berwick on the Lake.**

**Location**: **Berwick on the Lake, 3201 Ross Road, Nanaimo BC**

**Shifts: Sunday to Thursday, 3 shifts 10:30am-7pm and 2 shifts 9am-5:30pm**

**Compensation: Beginning at $24.61**

**Start Date: Open Until Filled.**

**Specific Responsibilities & Duties**:

- Undertake all aspects of food production, cooking and services.
- Take responsibility for daily operations, such as preparation, cooking, presentation.
- Be conscious of food cost and wastage.
- Be responsible for occasional functions/catering events.
- Perform administrative duties that include completion of daily production logs.
- Work alongside valued team members with a common goal of providing the best experience for our residents.
- Assist with training of culinary staff.
- Ensure strict compliance with the Compass Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Program, Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS regulations.
- Other reasonable duties outlined by Management.

**Qualifications**:

- Red Seal Certification.
- Post-secondary education in culinary or related studies.
- Previous 3+ years of kitchen experience, preferably in a high end restaurant environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- The ability to work in a close team environment.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, paying attention to accuracy and detail.
- Willingness to accommodate a flexible work schedule (mornings, evenings and weekends).

Important note**:A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is a condition of employment. Tuberculosis Screening Test results will also be required.**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 25-40 per week

**Salary**: $24.61 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
