**YoungEnergy a Vertex Resource Group Ltd. Company is hiring Lead Safety Attendant**

We are looking for motivated, dedicated, and skilled individuals with industry experience in Industrial Tank Cleaning projects. This position does require travel through Western Canada in order to meet the needs of our clients.

The Safety attendant has accountability for compliance with all safe work practices, procedures, and rules at the work site. This position is normally assigned to one or two additional personnel to perform confined space and equipment management function.

**What you do**:

- Prepare and conduct daily and weekly safety meetings.
- Prepare and implement all required rescue plans including confined space and work at heights.
- Assist in the development of hazard assessment reviews with assigned crews.
- Monitor onsite personnel for compliance with required safety, operations, client procedures, policies, rules, and permits.
- Manage onsite resources including breathing air resources, gas detection equipment, radios, and meters. Providing technical support as required.
- Perform daily detail review of all completed safety paperwork, ensuring required standards are achieved, documentation is orderly, copied as required by facility and safety department.
- Take a support role in completion of worksite inspections and incident investigations as delegated by supervisor.
- Supervise and mentor YoungEnergy personnel.

**Extensive knowledge of**:

- Industrial hygiene
- Gas Monitoring
- Ventilation practices
- Operation of breathing air equipment - SABA, air trailers (including operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting functions)
- Occupational health and safety regulations, safety programs (company and client)
- Ability to take initiative, make decisions, and use sounds judgement.
- Strong attention to details and proven capability to meet goals, prioritize, and multi-task.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a safety related field; education combined with experience will also be considered.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong time management skills to maximize office requirements vs field visits.
- Strong customer service and a team player skill
- Proven administrative experience including strong proficiency with Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Exceptional organization and attention to detail skills
- Ability to lead team members within area of responsibility.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a driver’s abstract
