Scale Operator

R. W. Tomlinson Ltd. Is currently seeking a Scale Operator to work at our quarry in Brechin, ON. The hours for this position will be Monday to Friday from 4:00AM to 4:00PM with the opportunity to work additional hours. The Scale House Operator will weigh trucks loaded with a variety of Aggregate type products and issue scale tickets to drivers and customers. They will ensure accuracy of product ordered and loaded, and will support the sales team in resolving customer disputes/queries.

**Location: 122 Miller Rd, Brechin, ON**

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Operate scale to weigh trucks
- Ensure correct routing of dispatched trucks to job sites
- Ensure scale ticket information is correct
- Communicate with foremen to facilitate their changing needs in products required, as well as any changes in jobs
- Assist customers over the phone in a courteous manner with respect to products, availability of trucks and scheduling
- Use computer system to set up and manage trucks and accounts, and distribute information to appropriate parties
- Print daily reports to verify cash, debit, and credit card transactions
- Relay any customer concerns or complaints to sales team
- Monitor vehicles and persons entering the premises
- Organize basic maintenance and testing of scale and scale house as required, (eg: cleaning, snow removal etc.) Conduct sampling and run gradations as needed

**WORKING CONDITIONS**

- Office-like environment, working independently Fast-paced environment, being a self-starter is considered an asset

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Computer knowledge and organizational skills as well as the ability to multi-task
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with customers and co-workers
- General knowledge of Aggregate QA is an asset
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle required
