Security Guard - Squamish

Paladin Security is looking for experienced Security Officers to join our team full-time at a post-secondary campus in Squamish.

**Starting Pay Rate: $21/hour during training, then increases to $24/hour.**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Conduct regular foot patrols
- Monitor CCTV cameras
- Provide first aid
- Manage lost and found
- Write detailed incident reports
- Respond to alarms
- De-escalate potentially violent situations
- Interact with clients and the general public

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- BC Security License
- Class 5 BC Driver's License
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal); confidence interacting verbally with team members, client personnel, members of the public, and emergency services
- Occupational First Aid Level 2 (or the willingness and ability to successfully complete this training with Paladin if hired)
- Physical ability to stand and/or patrol for the majority of a shift, including indoors, outdoors, in all weather conditions, up and down stairwells, and over uneven surfaces, and parking lots
- Confidence approaching and leading in emergency situations, including trauma, aggression, intoxication, bodily fluids, etc.
- A keen eye for watching and reporting irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations.
- Basic skills in utilizing technology, including writing reports on a computer, tracking patrols in a smartphone, and communicating via two-way radio
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
