We are looking for a
**_Investment Fund Consultant_**

The Investment Funds team within Wealth Solutions is responsible for ensuring Canada Life Wealth Platforms meet the needs and various goals of our clients and are industry leading. As part of the Investment Funds team the Investment Fund Consultant will be responsible for taking a lead role and executing the team’s Investment Manager Review process on existing products for the Individual Customer and Group Customer platforms. The Investment Fund Consultant, through the team’s IMR process, will also be responsible for identifying new and contemporary solutions to help enhance the overall Canada Life Wealth platforms. The Investment Fund Consultant will have a deep knowledge and understanding of both the retail and institutional investment manager and product landscape and conducting in-depth industry and competitive analysis to understand industry, client, competitor trends that will influence our Wealth platforms. The Investment Fund Consultant, as part of a team. will be responsible for carrying out sophisticated and in-depth qualitative and quantitative analysis on our offerings and platforms and effectively communicate and propose finding to our IMR committee, lines of business and internal as well as external stakeholders.

**What you will do**
- The Investment Fund Consultant will be accountable, as part of team, for executing the Investment Manager Review process, including both qualitative and quantitative processes, for all existing products on the Individual and Group Customer Wealth platforms. The qualitative process includes leading portfolio manager due diligence interviews on selected mandates and manager documenting those meeting and communicating their findings to the Investment Funds team and other key stakeholders and providing recommendations to the Investment Manager Research Committee
- The Investment Fund Consultant will also be a key member responsible for evaluating and interpreting in-depth performance analytics on both the Individual and Group Customer platforms and all products. The Investment Fund Consultant will be responsible for using in-depth analytical reports from Morningstar Direct and eVestment, for the purposes ensuring our products are performing to expectations and communicating those findings to the IMR Committee, Investment Funds team, business leaders and other key stakeholders.
- The Investment Fund Consultant will contribute to and support ongoing industry and competitive research to ensure we constantly have the most relevant and competitive product offerings on our Individual and Group Customer platforms at all times
- The Investment Fund Consultant role will contribute and support the communication of key IMR and business-related fund metrics to the Group Customer and Individual Customer line of businesses. This includes developing reports that support fund related business decisions. Help build the profile of Investment line up by contributing to the development of sophisticated methods of reporting on our IMR performance.
- Product Knowledge - Demonstrated expert knowledge of the mutual fund and seg fund industry, including features and options of mutual funds, segregated funds, alternatives, and ETFs. The evolution of these products in the industry, how our competitors view these products and utilize them. Leverage this competitive intelligence and expert insights to ensure our wealth offering continues to be industry leading.

**What you will bring**
- 5-10 years’ investment manager industry experience including knowledge of investment manager research due diligence process, and strong knowledge of both the retail and institutional investment manager and product landscape in Canada.
- 5-10 years’ experience in using investment manager/product data bases, including Morningstar Direct and eVestment.
- Excellent PC skills (Excel, VBA, Microsoft Access).
- Strong communication skills.
- Time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a high volume, rapidly changing environment.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- University degree ideally in Commerce / Business or related field.
- CFA, CAIA, CIM, MBA are recommended.
