We are expanding and are seeking two reliable and safety-focused Wash Plant Operators to join our team at a sand mining operation. The Wash Plant Operator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the wash plant, which involves the sorting, washing, and processing of sand and aggregate materials to meet quality specifications. This role includes operating large wheel loaders, monitoring equipment, troubleshooting operational issues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

**Role and Responsibilities**
- Operate and monitor the wash plant and associated equipment to ensure efficient processing of sand and aggregate materials.
- Conduct routine inspections and perform preventative maintenance on wash plant machinery.
- Monitor product quality and adjust plant settings to maintain production standards.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and coordinate with maintenance personnel for repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of production, equipment performance, and downtime.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure environmental compliance by managing water usage, sediment control, and waste disposal in accordance with regulations.
- Communicate effectively with plant supervisors, loader operators, and other team members to coordinate workflow and maintain productivity.

**Qualifications and Education Requirements**

We are looking for individuals with a hardworking and safety-first attitude, who have basic knowledge of tools and mechanics. Individuals must be self-motivated and adaptable to change. Other basic requirements include
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience operating a wash plant or working in a mining or aggregate production environment preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, work in varying weather conditions, and operate heavy machinery.

Preferred Skills

**Technical and Operational Skills**:

- **Mechanical aptitude**: Ability to understand, operate, and troubleshoot mechanical systems and equipment.
- **Equipment operation**: Proficiency with heavy equipment (e.g., loaders, conveyors, screens, pumps).
- **Plant process knowledge**: Understanding of wash plant systems, material flow, and processing techniques.
- **Preventative maintenance**: Experience performing basic maintenance and recognizing early signs of equipment failure.

**Quality Control and Monitoring**:

- **Attention to detail**: Ability to monitor material quality and adjust operations to meet production specifications.
- **Record-keeping**: Competence in logging daily production reports, maintenance activities, and performance metrics.

**Safety and Compliance**:

- **Strong safety mindset**: Familiarity with mine safety protocols, and ability to identify and mitigate hazards.
- **Environmental awareness**: Understanding of environmental regulations related to water usage, sediment control, and material handling.

- **Clear communication**: Ability to coordinate with supervisors, maintenance teams, and fellow operators to maintain workflow.

**Additional Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience with computerized plant control systems (SCADA or similar).
- Forklift or heavy equipment certification.
- Welding or fabrication skills (for minor plant repairs).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

**Additional Information**
- Must be able to complete all safety ticket training.
- Must have a class 5 driver's license with an insurable driver abstract with a clean driving record
- 90-day probationary period
- Boot allowance provided after the probationary period
