Shortline Moving Solutions is a trusted Winnipeg-based moving, storage and delivery company. We are growing our delivery network and seeking an experienced and professional owner-operator with their own 5-ton truck to partner with us on dedicated appliance delivery routes.

**Overview**:
As an independent contractor, you will represent Shortline, providing final-mile delivery and professional installation of appliances to our customers across Winnipeg and surrounding communities. You must provide your own insured, well-maintained 5-ton truck and operate your own registered business.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Safely operate your 5-ton truck to deliver appliances to residential and commercial locations in Winnipeg and surrounding areas.
- Load and unload heavy appliances using appropriate equipment (dollies, straps, lift gates).
- Professionally install appliances according to manufacturer/contract specifications (e.g., levelling, connecting water lines, basic electrical hookups).
- Provide exceptional customer service, answer questions, and ensure complete customer satisfaction, upholding the reputation of Shortline Moving Solutions.
- Manage and maintain accurate delivery records and obtain proof of delivery (POD).
- Adhere to all scheduled delivery times and communicate effectively with our dispatch team.
- Strictly follow all safety protocols and provincial traffic laws.

**Mandatory Requirements for Owner-Operators**:

- **Own a 5-ton truck in good mechanical and visual condition (photos may be requested).**:

- **Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.**:

- **Clean commercial driver's abstract.**:

- **Liability Insurance.**:

- **Cargo Insurance.**:

- **Manitoba WCB coverage for yourself and any employees/helpers.**:

- **Registered business in Manitoba**:

- Proven ability to lift heavy appliances safely (must be able to lift 100 lbs with a partner).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills. Must wear Shortline logo'd clothing
- Must have a smartphone with data for routing and electronic paperwork.

**Job Type: Independent Contract**

**Compensation**:

- Highly competitive per-stop
- Consistent, year-round volume

**Schedule**:

- Day shifts, starting at **7:15 AM**

**Experience**:

- **Appliance delivery and installation: 2+ years (required)**:

- **Experience operating a 5-ton truck for delivery (required)**:

- Experience with residential in-home service is a must.

**Licences & Certifications (required)**:

- Manitoba Class 5 Driver's Licence (Minimum)
- Proof of Business Insurance
- Clean Driver's Abstract

Pay: $50,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
