Brake Press Operator - Weekend Shift

The Brake Press Operator will be responsible for following all brake press operating procedures. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Education
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent.

Years of Experience
- Minimum 5 years as an Air Bend Brake Press Operator.

Working Conditions
- On-site work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks that require knowledge of and adherence to basic safety procedures and precautions;
- Work environment requires wearing construction safety footwear, safety glasses and hearing protection; and
- Flexible to work overtime as required.

Hours of Operation
- This opening is for our weekend sift which is Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6am - 6:30pm.

Intermediate Level
- Press tool set up is required;
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time;
- CNC interface;
- Ability to read blueprints and measuring tools;
- Basic understanding of geometry concepts and able to calculate negative and positive adjustments;
- Basic computer skills using manufacturing software programs;
- Excellent problem-solving skills;
- High standard of attention to detail;
- Ability to manage time and prioritize work effectively;
- Must be able to lift 50lbs and stand for long periods;
- Demonstrate State’s core values and work in a team environment; and
- Demonstrate adaptability and initiative.

Job Specific Duties
- Follow Press Brake process standard operating procedure;
- Bend aluminum sheet to create custom panels from drawings;
- Accurately entering quantities into the computer/programming the interface;
- Use inspection devices to inspect parts, according to print and product inspection plan;
- Make small, mathematically calculated, angle corrections;
- Orienting the part correctly;
- Plan/pick/load tooling from inventory;
- Reading the print fully to understand tolerances, geometry, material thickness, and special instructions;
- Wearing proper protective equipment, as directed by equipment or process;
- Understand safety requirements in every area, and complying; and
- Using material data sheets effectively.
