**The Opportunity**:
As an HCA, you are a vital part of our care team. You will help create a safe, supportive, and comforting environment for clients, ensuring their well-being and quality of life are enhanced through compassionate support.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide direct personal care, including assistance with transferring, positioning, and mobility.
- Provide medication reminders as directed.
- Assist with simple wound care and basic health education.
- Plan and prepare meals, accommodating specialized dietary needs.
- Guide clients through therapeutic exercises.
- Collaborate effectively with regulated healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care plans.
- Offer companionship and essential emotional support.
**Mandatory Requirements**:
To ensure the highest standard of care, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- **Health Care Aide Certification**: Must possess a recognized Health Care Aide certificate.
- **Active Registration**: Current and active registration on the **Alberta HCA Directory** (required for employment).
- **Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification**: Must hold a current BLS certification.
- **Police Check**: Current and clear **Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening** (within 90 days)
- **Physical Health**: Excellent physical health to meet the demands of the role.
- **Communication**: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- **Driver Requirements**: Valid **Alberta Driver’s License** and a **reliable vehicle** with commercial insurance coverage.
- **Availability**: Availability for shifts of varying lengths ranging from 2 hours to 12 hours.
