**ABOUT THE ROLE**

**WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH**- Fully trained in the operations and capability of the screed on a paver.-
- Work as part of a team to operate the paver efficiently.-
- Perform repair and maintenance on the paver under the direction of the plant foreman or lead hand.-
- Ensure accurate thickness of asphalt and monitor material production within specifications.-
- Ensure consistent feed to maintain a quality product.-
- Assist with various job site operations as needed.-
- Create an atmosphere of teamwork and seek out best practices.-
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.**WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR**
**Education**: High School Diploma or equivalent
**Required Work Experience**: Min 2 years of experience operating a screed
**Required Training/Certifications**:Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
**Required Technical Skills**:Knowledge of City of Edmonton Specifications, Ability to read survey markings
**Travel Requirements**: Knowledge of the City of Edmonton and surrounding area

**Additional Requirements**:
- Mechanically inclined with experience in basic equipment maintenance.-
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including crouching, bending, lifting, and kneeling.-
- Proven ability to follow safe work procedures and complete field risk assessments.
