Machnist - Day Shift

S&C is continuing to grow. Where do you come in? We are looking for talented **Machinist for the Day Shift, **who has a passion for innovation and in their field of expertise, enjoys working as part of a team and are committed to helping us become a leader in our industry.

**Job Summary**
You will be responsible for creating programs, setting up and operating the CNC machines, following work orders to produce parts for our units according to S&C quality standards. This role also performs other tool room duties.

**As a Machinist, you will**
- Set up, prove out and produce production parts using CNC machines.
- Ability to read, modify and interpret program coding and commands.
- Monitor machine operation and perform trouble shooting tactics when necessary.
- Ensure parts are manufactured in accordance with quality standards and target plans.
- Inspect, measures & ensure quality control of all manufactured parts within control.
- Maintaining tooling & materials
- Basic machine maintenance & upkeep (TPM program)
- Use manual pump trucks, cranes (over head / jib) and lift devices as required to move material and finished product(s)

**Who are we looking for? Someone who has **
- Post secondary education or CNC certification.
- Minimum 5-years experience as a CNC Machinist.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Able to use QA instruments such as micrometer and calipers.
- Excellent mechanical/mathematical aptitude and manual dexterity.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with mínimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Computer-literate and able to learn new software/programs as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement manufacturing principles
