We are currently looking for a Operations Manager to join our amazing team The Operations Manager will work at designated worksites, covering vacations, leaves, and supporting as needed.

**Job purpose**

The purpose of this position is to oversee all required training, supervision, and performance management - completed by the Residence Coordinator and complete all management level employee relations; this position also ensures all standards of care are maintained as outlined in all WorkSafe, CARF, licensing, and contractual obligations.

**Duties and responsibilities**

**Individual Tasks**
- Member of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee or Labour Management Committee

**Supervision, Training, and Performance Management Tasks**
- Provides supervision that supports consistent quality service
- Ensures performance reviews occur at least annually.
- Provides letters of expectation as needed.
- Conducts investigation interviews as needed.
- Conducts employee discipline as needed.
- Scheduling and completing all required initial and on-site training with assigned employees.
- Identifying probationary period dates and ensuring training and employee items are completed prior to this date - extending probationary/trial periods as needed.

**Standards of Care Tasks**
- Lead the development of the support plan drawing on other experts where necessary and in collaboration with guardianship workers
- Provides leadership, guidance and participates with staff, families and others in planning and providing client plans, case conferencing, case management and the preparation of related documents and reports.
- Coordinate the care team to ensure integrated and holistic assessment and planning.
- Liaises with community, government, families, officials, professionals and organization staff and promotes community involvement in the program.
- Facilitates the care circle meeting with appropriate attendees
- Supports Residence Coordinator with oversight of worksite.
- Completes Quality Record Reviews quarterly.
- Ensures agency policies being maintained - including year-end filing.
- Ensure WorkSafe standards are adhered to at worksites
- Creates and modifies agency templates as needed.
- Stays informed on all standards of care as required - i.e. MCFD standards of care, Island Health licensing standards, etc.
- Stays informed on CARF standards - specifically Section 2- Program Standards of Child and Youth Services Manual and Employment Community Services Manual.
- Stays informed and up to date on any standard changes/revisions in the manual.

**Qualifications and Competencies**

**Minimum requirements**:
All applicants must have at least a degree or diploma in a related field (child and youth care, education, psychology, etc.) and/or have the equivalent of at least two years of experience in the field. All applicants should have experience of being a team leader and supervising employees. Employees must have valid first aid, and a class 5 drivers license.

Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

- Experience working with individuals with extreme behaviors and/or mental health concerns with the age range of 0-19 years old
- Knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice
- Experience in an administrative/managerial role
- Experience adhering to strict policies and procedures
- Experience with crisis management and high stress environments - patient, calm, effective self-care practices, problem solving skills, etc.
- Advanced communication skills - able to always maintain professionalism and adapt to the needs of the person
- Strong organization and planning skills
- Strong Computer Skills - Microsoft word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Experience managing in a Union environment.
- Must obtain and maintain screening through the MCFD and the Ministry of Justice.

**Working conditions**

This position requires the employee to work a full-time flexible schedule - on-call hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. In British Columbia, managers are excluded from Parts 4 and 5 of the Employment Standards Act, which covers hours of work, overtime entitlements and statutory holiday pay.

**Physical requirements**

This position requires the employee to both sit and stand for long periods of time and often go long periods of time without breaks.
