Staff and volunteers are committed to making Greenwood Court "a place to call home" for its residents. **About the Position**: Under the direction of the Recreation and Volunteer Coordinator, the Recreation Assistant, plans and implements recreation programs, which enhance the lifestyle of residents at Greenwood Court. **Wage**: **$19.17- 22.23 hourly** **Qualifications**: - Must be enrolled/graduated from diploma/degree studies in recreation and leisure or a related field from a community college or university **Experience**: - Experience in the recreational field, working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**: - Ability to plan, facilitate, and evaluate programs geared to resident's interests, skills and abilities using the five domains of wellness. - Must be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain accurate documentation. - Computer skills and working knowledge of Point Click Care and MDS-RAI an asset. - Maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance. - An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and possess excellent problem solving and creative abilities. - Ability to be flexible and work both independently & cooperatively as a team. - Desire to participate in opportunities for further learning. - Must be available days, evenings and weekends **About Tri-County Mennonite Homes**: **What we Offer**: - Full-time, part-time and casual opportunities - Pension plan - Health and dental benefits - Short-term disability - Life insurance - Paid orientation - Training opportunities and career development - Employee appreciation lunches and events - Employee Assistance Program - An employee Social Committee - Tuition support programs - Employee pricing on meals from our kitchen - A positive and supportive working environment New employees will be required to complete a vulnerable sector check and TB test as part of the onboarding process.
