**Summary / purpose of the position**

The primary responsibility of the Medical Science Liaison (MSL), Neuroscience is to develop peer-to-peer relationships with key external stakeholders, aligned to our neuroscience portfolios. These relationships will facilitate the exchange of scientific information around key therapeutic areas, the communication of emerging data, the response to questions from health care practitioners and the identification of research partners with a focus on improving patient care. This position is also critical in gathering insights around treatment trends, experience with Ipsen products, and the constantly evolving healthcare environment, all to align our company efforts with opportunities to improve patient outcomes.

**Main responsibilities / job expectations**
- Identify and develop peer-to-peer relationships with regional and national medical experts aligned with Ipsen Canada’s therapeutic areas of interest, and consistent with the strategy and objectives of Medical Affairs.
- Support the development of annual medical affairs plans in neuroscience, as appropriate, and in collaboration with the internal medical team.
- Lead the development and implementation of a regional medical affairs plan.
- Establish ongoing scientific exchange with experts to discuss current and emerging therapies; this can include advisory boards, individual meetings, and congresses.
- Partner with Medical Affairs and Medical Information services to ensure accurate delivery of medical and scientific information, as needed.
- Proactively identify potential research sites and assist as needed in facilitation of externally-sponsored clinical trials.
- Identify and assist, as needed, in initiation and closure of investigator-sponsored clinical trials (ISS).
- Contribute to the identification of unmet medical needs in neuroscience.
- Develop and maintain scientific, clinical and therapeutic expertise in neurosciences.
- Provide appropriate scientific, clinical, and educational expertise for internal and external customers.
- Identify opportunities and/or support medical publications as needed (abstracts, manuscripts, etc.).
- Collaborate and participate in Speaker Training initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of scientific training to Sales Representatives.
- Lead/participate on special project teams as necessary.
- Coordinate scientific activities with medical affairs, clinical development, and global franchise groups, as needed
- Represent the company at specific continuing medical educational events, programs, medical meetings and scientific conventions.
- Differentiate Ipsen as the valued scientific partner of choice through innovative initiatives, coordinated strategy, scientific communication, and patient centricity.

**Knowledge, abilities & experience**

Education / Certifications:

- Minimum 2 years MSL experience preferred.

**Experience**:

- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Presentation, facilitation and instructional Skills
- Work independently and with cross functional teams

Languages:

- Fluency in French and English (written and spoken) is strongly preferred.

**Key Technical Competencies Required**
- Business travel by air or car is regularly required
- Some weekend work required
- Ability to travel in Canada ~ 40-50%
- Works independently
- Position will be home based in Greater Montreal Area, Quebec or Greater Toronto Area, Ontario
- Responsible for national territory
