**Position Title**:Production Associate

**Reports To**:Supervisor, Injection

**Department**:**Injection

**Shift**: Midnight (12:00 AM - 8:30 AM)

**Position Summary**:
Inspect and Assemble product according to Standard Operation Procedure and Customer Specifications. Pack product into prescribed packaging as per instructions. Tact time (cycle time) must be met to ensure daily customer requirements are completed.

**Essential Functions**:

- Responsible for visually inspecting all product (according to Standard Operation Procedure “SOP”) and trimming parts when necessary
- Assemble product according to procedures, “SOP” and customer requirements
- Pack correct number of parts in prescribed bin or alternative packaging
- Place correct identification label on prescribed bin or alternative packaging and stack on skids according to customer specifications
- Responsible for workstation setup during mold/colour changes(i.e.) secondary equipment, component & packaging change
- Responsible for removing scrap from the work station at the end of the run or mold/colour changes
- While working in the Injection area notify Technical Staff of upcoming mold/colour changes via paging system with 90 pieces left on current run
- Set aside parts that do not meet specification and check with Direct Report and/or Quality Inspector for acceptable level
- Responsible for 5S during your shift
- Notify Direct Report or Technical Staff of any quality concerns or scrap immediately
- Ensure that plant standards, safety and other guidelines outlined in the KCC policies and KCC Associate Handbook are followed
- May participate in team problem solving and preventive/corrective action as required, specifically 5Ps and WHY WHY’s
- Report any equipment malfunction and/or quality problems to Direct Report and/or Process Technician
- Cover breaks for other associates at the Injection Machines
- Perform various other duties as required by the Direct Report or Manager
- Maybe required to sort product to ensure there are no defects

**Additional Responsibilities**:

- May conduct periodic inventory counts
- May audit finished product as required
- May perform duties of other associates in the department in their absence
- Other duties that may be required

**Work Environment/Health and Safety**:

- Use or wear personal protective equipment or clothing required in order to perform the job tasks safely
- Report to Direct Report and/or Manager the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective devices of which he/she is aware and which may endanger him/herself or another worker immediately
- Report to Direct Report and/or Manager any contravention of the Occupational Health & Safety Act or the regulations or the existence of any hazard of which he/she knows
- Adhere to KCC 5-S program - Clean plant environment
- Minimal exposure to noise
- Fast pace work environment
- Be aware of all posted warnings and hazards of all surrounding machinery
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 ISO 9001 polices and procedures

**Qualifications**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Mental and visual alertness necessary to observe quality changes in product
- Satisfactory work records, including attendance
- Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Basic knowledge of computers
- Willingness to work overtime when necessary
