Summerhill Market is looking for a **Meat Clerk** to join the Deli team at our **Rosedale** location.

We’re looking for a **Meat Clerk** to join our team at our boutique grocery store. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about food, enjoys providing great customer service, and is eager to learn. You’ll support the meat department by ensuring shelves and displays are well-stocked and clean, while assisting customers and learning about meat products — with the opportunity to be trained in meat cutting skills over time.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Stocking meat cases and coolers with fresh, properly rotated, and well-presented products
- Ensuring all meat products are labeled and priced accurately
- Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the meat department, including shelves, counters, and coolers
- Assisting customers with product selection and providing helpful, friendly service
- Following all food safety and health regulations, including safe product handling and storage procedures
- Receiving and organizing deliveries and backroom inventory
- Assisting with set-up and breakdown of product displays and promotional signage
- Supporting the department team with daily tasks as needed
- Learning about meat products, cuts, and preparation — with an opportunity to be trained in basic meat cutting techniques

**Skillset Requirements**:

- Passion for food and willingness to learn about meat products
- Strong customer service skills and a positive, helpful attitude
- Comfortable working in cool environments and handling meat products
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Food Safety Handlers Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Previous grocery or retail experience is an asset but not required
- Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
