Island Health has immediate opportunities for General Internists to join the Department of Internal Medicine in multiple communities across Vancouver Island: Victoria, Cowichan Valley, Nanaimo, Port Alberni, Comox and Campbell River.

Whether you are looking for an oceanfront community with a collegial group of general internists, interested in working all aspects of internal medicine including managing complex medical patients, providing general cardiac care and peri-operative consults, or join a community that will have a new hospital expected to open in 2027, we will help you find your fit.

Local specialist services include General, Plastic and Orthopedic Surgery, Anesthesiology, Urology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, ENT, Ophthalmology and Radiology.

We have an academic affiliation with the University of British Columbia (UBC) postgraduate programs and offer positions at teaching hospitals. We also have a Family Practice Residency Program and are involved in both medical student and residency education. You’ll be able to continue to grow through teaching opportunities with Island Health.

**Benefits**

May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Ministry of Health’s Rural Subsidy agreement. Excluding Victoria and Nanaimo.

- Eligible for FRCPC-Internal Medicine
- or USA Certified-Internal Medicine
