**Job Summary**:
Within the context of a person centered care model, the Recovery Coach evaluates, plans and facilitates individual and group recovery/rehabilitation programs for adults with mental health and substance use issues. The Recovery Coach, as a member of an integrated, collaborative team, encourages clients to actively participate in recovery-oriented activities including social, recreational, and leisure activities.

**Role Description/Typical Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Maintain client caseload based on program standards;
- Identify measurable outcomes related to client identified goals and the overall recovery/intervention plan, demonstrating client’s progression towards their goals;
- Convey PROM assessment results and Recovery Plan to client and multi-disciplinary team members;
- Facilitates Psycho-social rehabilitation groups to support skill development and access to resources in the domains of wellness, basic living skills and leisure, employment and education;
- Engage and support clients to address recovery goals and needs in the areas of basic living skills, wellness, leisure, education and employment;
- Ensures the intervention plan supports a multi-disciplinary team approach to treatment;
- Document and report Recovery Plans and progress with multi-disciplinary team members;
- Communicate effectively with client / family and multi-disciplinary team members;
- Use a variety of facilitation techniques to achieve desired outcomes;
- Maintain documentation standards as set forth by the agency, risk management;
- Develop a safety plan, as necessary, in response to observed or client-identified concerns regarding safety of the client;
- Use research findings to enhance program offerings;
- Act as an advocate for the advancement of the profession;
- Facilitate community partnerships and volunteer services as required;
- Act as an educator and resource to multi-disciplinary team members;
- Participates in quality improvement activities and implements changes as necessary;
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications**:
**Education, Training and Experience**:

- Diploma in Community Social Services;
- Recent, related experience of three years or equivalent combination of education and training experience;
- Recent experience with mental health, substance use issues and harm reduction;
- Training in Suicide Prevention, Harm Reduction, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and Motivational Interviewing are considered an asset;
- Valid Class 5 BC Drivers license, use of one’s own vehicle is considered an asset;
- Clear drivers’ Abstract;
- Diploma in Interprofessional Mental Health and Addictions is preferred.

**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**
- Clear criminal record check through the Solicitor General
- Negative TB test
- COVID-19 Proof of Vaccination
- Up-to-date on Provincial Immunization schedule
