**Job Title**:
Geophysical Technician / Geophysical Operator

**Based at**:
Delta, British Columbia

**Position Reports to**:
Joyce Visser, Project Manager

**Job Purpose**:
To conduct geophysical services on behalf of our clients to assist in the detection and delineation of economic ore deposits. This is done through the collection and interpretation of geophysical data that either supports or contradicts geological models of the subsurface. In addition to the actual collection of data, the quality of the geophysical data requires continuous monitoring to ensure the utmost quality. After the collection of the data, the data is analyzed to convert the data to a useful set of data presentable to the client.

**Core Responsibilities**:

- Determine field requirements and test instrumentation for operational readiness.
- Prepare the geophysical survey site for data collection. Requires the layout and movement of wire and cables.
- Operates geophysical instrumentation.
- Download the data from survey instrumentation each evening.
- Maintain survey instrumentation each evening after acquisition.
- Analysis of the collected and monitor the data quality daily.
- Updates and maintains digital database of the geophysical data.
- Processes and interprets data on site in conjunction with head office direction
- Intermittently, as a consequence of field interpretation, there is a requirement to make changes to the survey.
- Communicates with the Delta office and clients as required.
- Communicate and train local workers to perform specific tasks to assist with the execution of a survey.

The most senior Geophysical Technician/Field Geophysicist on site will be the Crew Chief and have the additional responsibilities:

- Leading and supervising a field crew during geophysical survey projects
- Ensuring crew safety and adherence to field protocols and safety procedures
- Delegating tasks and providing on-site training and mentorship to team members
- Monitoring project progress and adjusting plans as needed to meet timelines
- Communicating daily with head office regarding project updates and needs
- Completing field documentation, timesheets, and basic data entry each evening
- Supporting client interaction and occasional coordination with local contractors
- Maintaining an organized workflow and promoting a strong team culture in the field
- Troubleshooting logístical or operational challenges
- Traveling for extended periods to remote or international project locations

**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**:
Relevant experience in field logistics, geotechnical, forestry, environmental, or mechanical work is preferred. **A valid driver's license is required.**

The following skills and background will be highly valued:

- Bachelors degree or diploma in a technical field
- Experience working in remote or camp-based settings
- Strong organizational and logístical coordination abilities
- Comfort with basic spreadsheets, forms, and technology tools
- Mechanical aptitude or hands-on troubleshooting experience
- Experience working internationally or in varied climates

Pay: $320.00-$460.00 per day
