Door Production Assembly Worker

**Full Time: 8 hours/Day - Monday to Friday - Permanent Full-Time**

In this full-time role, you will play a key part in supporting our production and manufacturing operations in our Abbotsford Branch. You will put your skills to work by contributing to the production and assembly of residential and commercial steel doors. You will support our business in the following ways:
**Key Job Responsibilities**:

- Build and assemble doors according to specifications using hand, power tools, and pre-hanging door production equipment.
- Operating a Norfield door machine to assemble interior and exterior doors.
- Assembly of doors, frames, and related components according to specification.
- Ensure that materials are labeled correctly and accurately.
- Maintain an organized and safe workspace while following all company safety policies.
- Loading and unloading products being shipped or received.
- Ensure all products meet quality standards.
- Work with a team to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Ability to work well with others and in a safe manner.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned by Supervisor.

**Required Education, Skills and Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in a production facility, home building supplies industry or a manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Prior experience working with and sound knowledge of pre-hanging door production.
- Knowledge of interior and exterior door pre-hanging production process including the use and maintenance of Norfield Magnum door machine.
- Experience with pre-hanging interior and exterior single and double door hanging production process.
- Experience with pre-hanging exterior door units, sidelites, double doors and transoms.
- Ability to work with a variety of hand tools, power tools and assembly machinery related to door hanging including but not limited to tape measure, strike router, routers and jigs, table saw, jig saws and various other hand tools.
- Ability to take direction, work on specific timelines and production targets, and read and interpret door production work orders.
- Proficiency and experience in quality control process and checks.
- Strong communication skills with a clear command of the English language, both spoken and written.
- Functional math skills to calculate and measure with ability to read tape measure.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with both internal and external customers.
- First Aid, WHIMIS, and Forklift Certification(s) an asset but may be provided.

**Preferred Skills and Experience**:

- Welding experience or experience with steel commercial doors would be considered asset.

**Environmental & Physical/Mental Demands**:

- The physical demands of this job require the employee to have good coordination and be able to lift up to 50-150lbs.
- Physically fit for lifting, bending, and moving materials and may involve repetitive motions.
- Employees will be working in a moderate to loud production environment near moving equipment.
- Must be committed to working safely and following all health and safety policies.
