We’re on the search for a **Mechanical Technician**on our Satellite systems team at our Montreal office.
**Role**:
Working in the Process and Automation group, the mechanical technician will be involved in setting up automatic stations for assemblers. He/she will provide technical support on the floor for existing systems and their debugging. They will also work closely with automation engineers to implement new systems.
**Responsibility/Tasks**:
- Assemble or modify test models and experimental setups from specific instructions or under the supervision of senior technical personnel.
- Perform a variety of tasks including installation, repair, testing and maintenance of equipment, subsystems and systems.
- Participate in testing under the supervision of senior technical personnel.
- Record results of tests or experiments.
- Read and interpret technical drawings
- Assist higher level personnel with other tasks.
- Perform periodic maintenance on equipment.
- Participate in the preparation of time and cost estimates
- Research and recommend parts or components for special tests and test fixtures.
- Participate in the programming and start-up of automated equipment sequences using the software provided.
- Perform work in accordance with internal procedures and in compliance with our health and safety rules.
- Perform other related tasks.
**Minimum qualifications required**:
- College diploma or equivalent diploma in mechanical, aeronautical engineering or related field based on assignment.
- A combination of other experiences/education that is relevant can be considered.
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
- Fluency in spoken and written French. Knowledge of English is an asset.
- Knowledge and experience, based on assignment.
**Schedule**:
- Training day schedule (Monday to Friday 7:00 to 3:00pm)
- Evening (Monday to Friday 3:00 to 11:00pm with possibility of doing schedule of 4 days on 5)
- Week-end (Friday to Sunday 7:00 to 6:30pm).
