**Position**:Articling Student (2026-2027)
**Location**: Ottawa, Ontario

**Responsibilities**:
- Conduct legal research and analysis of various criminal law issues
- Assist in the preparation of legal documents, including factums, briefs, and motions
- Represent the firm and its clients at court appearances for which a lawyer is not required; this involves being familiar with many files and understanding next steps
- Attending hearings, client meetings, and case conferences
- Liaise with clients, Crown Attorneys, and other stakeholders
- Provide support to lawyers in case preparation and strategy development
- Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation
- Handle administrative tasks as needed to support the efficient operation of the firm
**Qualifications**:
- Completed or currently enrolled in a recognized law school program
- Strong academic record with a focus on criminal law courses
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and problem-solve
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to helping people in difficult circumstances
- Particular interest in criminal defence
