**Date**: September 5, 2024 **Position**: Community Outreach Worker **Status**: Full-Time, (1.0 FTE), Permanent **Hours of Work**: *Monday-Friday: 8:45am - 5:00am **Department**: Early Learning & Parenting **Job Posting No.**: \#2024-068 **Reports to**: Program Manager - MIK - Manito Ikwe Kagiikwe **Closing Date**: September 19, 2024, at 4:00pm **Union**: CUPE - Community Support **Hourly Rate**: $23.673 - $27.445/hr *These hours are dependent on the operational requirements of the organization *Mount Carmel Clinic Operates out of multiple locations; you may be required to work in other areas **Position Summary** Manito Ikwe Kagiikwe (MIK) supports women and children affected by systemic marginalization and substance use who have complex health and social needs. Functioning as part of a coordinated service delivery team, the Outreach Worker works proactively with new and existing clients, offering a range of support and recovery services, within an existing service plan and on an as-needed basis. The Outreach Worker is a relationship-builder and advocate and provides service in a non-judgmental and culturally appropriate manner, helping clients to build new skills and achieve their goals **Qualifications** **Education** Must have a Valid Drivers’ License and access to a reliable vehicle. **Service Delivery Skills, Expertise and Experience** Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in community, preferably with program target population Experience providing outreach with hard to reach populations **Critical Skills** Proven knowledge and ability in critical thinking, decision-making, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills **Focus on Results** Demonstrated ability to prioritize and focus work-related activities to effectively and efficiently achieve service goals and produce expected results/outcomes **Alignment with Organizational Values** Commitment to the principles that guide Mount Carmel Clinic, as reflected in the history, vision, mission and values **Commitment to Reconciliation** Knowledge and historical factors that affect the health and well-being of Indigenous individuals and families **Teamwork** Proven ability to work within a team environment with respect, professionalism, cooperation, sensitivity and cultural awareness **MCC Philosophies** Strong knowledge of diversity, equity, cultural safety, pro-choice, social determinants of health, population health, harm reduction, trauma-informed and community development approaches **Assets** Post-Secondary Education in a Social Services field **Bona Fide Occupation Requirement** Gender is a bona fide occupational requirement: this position is open to self-identifying female applicants only **This link can also be found under Employment Opportunities on our website**:
