Cambridge Materials Testing (CMTL), a division of Acuren, is currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician, to support our services in our
**Metallurgical Department** in the Cambridge, Ontario laboratory. If you are seeking a dynamic industrial environment with opportunities for individual growth and learning, this is for you.
**Responsibilities**:
The Metallurgical Lab Technician will be responsible for preparing and evaluating test specimens and reporting material properties such as grain size, microstructure & hardness using a variety of equipment such as microscopes, image analysis system, and sectioning and polishing equipment.
- Follow ISO and company quality standards
- Responsible for regular maintenance and internal calibration of testing equipment including documentation
- work with the Department Supervisor and Customer Service team to maintain customer relations while working under mínimal supervision.
**Requirements**:
- B.Sc. or related technology/technician diploma with 2 years related experience preferred
- Previous experience with metallurgical test methods is an asset
- Well organized, detail-oriented with safe work habits
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills
- Ability to follow company’s standard operating procedures and ASTM, ASME, Federal, Military, Aerospace & Automotive published procedures.
