**About St. David’s Hydroponics Ltd**

St. David’s Hydroponics Ltd is a large-scale vegetable greenhouse located in the Niagara area. Our mission is to grow the highest quality bell peppers and eggplants possible for our customers in both Canada and the United States. Currently we have 2 locations and almost 100 acres under glass. In operation since 1985 we use the latest in technology.

**Summary of Position**
This is a hands-on position in a small, very active office. It requires someone able to work independently, and willing to take charge of all aspects of accounting and office management.

**Specific responsibilities**
- All financial reporting, ensuring everything is completed accurately and on a timely basis.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and ensure year end statements are fully complete and ready for year end audit, up to and including preparation of year audit working papers.
- Review accounts payable & accounts receivable.
- All aspects of payroll.
- All government reporting and filing requirements.
- Monitor cash flows and oversee the financing needs for the company.
- Prepare sale reports as required.
- Manage office day to day operations.
- Ensure company is in line with all legal responsibilities.
- Oversee computer systems, backups and keep system up to date and operating smoothly.
- Insurance renewals.
- Oversee company benefit plan.
- Assist with human resources issues when required.

**Skills, Experience, and Attributes**
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA designation strongly preferred.
- Several years of proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar role.
- Experience with payroll processing and tax compliance.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage and excel.
- Knowledge of HR rules and regulations.
- Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be very detail oriented and able to prioritize well and meet all deadlines.
- Able to deal with all matters with integrity, and maintain confidentiality as required.
- Willingness to work on site at our Niagara-On-The-Lake location.
- Previous experience in an agriculture related company would be helpful.

Pay: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
