Posting Date: Apr. 14, 2025, | Compensation**:$2,200/month (pro-rated as applicable)**, with **20% commission being paid on all completed reservation fees collected and remitted to the RDMW**, calculated before GST.
- The Regional District of Mount Waddington (RDMW) is seeking an experienced and reliable Independent Contractor to oversee the daily operations and general upkeep of a seasonal campsite.
- This contract opportunity is ideal for an individual (or couple) who enjoys the outdoors, operates autonomously, and can provide their own accommodation (RV or tent) on-site.
- This is a **contractor-managed operation**, and the selected contractor will **operate independently**, supplying their own services, tools, and equipment (except for grass-cutting equipment) to fulfill the requirements of the contract. **This role is not an employment position**.
**Scope of Work**
- Interact with visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Monitor guest safety and uphold campsite policies.
- Manage daily operations including light maintenance, cleaning/prepping campsites between visitors, and restocking of campsite facilities.
- Keeping washroom facilities clean and sanitary with provided chemicals.
- Manage garbage/recycling disposal as needed.
- Coordinating reservation payments and collect visitor statistics.
- Communicate significant issues or hazards to the RDMW.
- Advise campers about firewood availability.
- Cut the grass as required and cut the light brush in the campsite areas as it encroaches into campsite areas or roadways.
**Contractor Requirements**
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Must provide own accommodation and be physically present on-site throughout the contract term.
- Contractor supplies tools and equipment except for grass-cutting equipment provided by the Regional District.
- Must carry appropriate general liability insurance and (if applicable) WorkSafeBC optional personal coverage.
- Experience in hospitality, property caretaking, or outdoor operations is preferred.
- Ability to issue monthly invoices for services rendered.
- Use their best efforts to maintain law and order in the campsite and, if necessary, call in the local RCMP to attend to problems.
- Ensure that only the designated areas are used for camping and not permit camping in the day use and parking areas, which are to always remain open for public use.
**Additional Notes**
- This is a **fixed-term independent contract**.
- **No payroll deductions will be made** - The Contractor is responsible for their own tax remittance and business registration.
