**Job Overview**
We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Traffic Controller to join our team for work on Salt Spring Island

We have a crew leader who can drive employees to the site.

Ferry costs paid for and there is a $100/day LOA that isn't taxed to cover travel time to and from the jobsite.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the flow of traffic in construction zones and ensuring the safety of both workers and motorists. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation and construction processes will be essential in maintaining an efficient work environment.

**Duties**
- Direct traffic through construction sites using hand signals, flags, or other devices to ensure safe passage for vehicles and pedestrians.
- Monitor and manage traffic flow to prevent congestion and accidents in work zones.
- Communicate effectively with construction crews to coordinate activities and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Assist in the setup and removal of traffic control devices, including cones, barriers, and signage.
- Conduct regular inspections of the work area to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency services as needed during road closures or incidents.
- Maintain clear communication with team members regarding ongoing projects and any changes in traffic patterns.

**Qualifications**
- Proven experience in traffic control or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with paving, building, and heavy equipment operation is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively relay information to team members and the public.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license may be required based on job site location.
